USC will be staying close to home to start the 2020 season.
The Pac-12’s new football schedule was released Friday as the conference adjusts to the new realities of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The new schedule has USC opening the season with three games against in-state opponents, starting with a road game against UCLA on Sept. 26. It will be the first time the crosstown rivals have played in September since 1945.
The Trojans will follow up with a home game against Cal before traveling to Stanford. USC then returns to the Coliseum in Week 4 to play Colorado before making their first out-of-state trip to Tuscon to play Arizona in Week 5.
USC then has a bye before hosting Washington State in Week 7. The Cougars are the new addition to USC’s expanded 10-game conference schedule.
The Trojans’ schedule intensifies in the final four weeks, with a trip to Eugene to play last year’s conference champion, Oregon. USC returns to the Coliseum to host Arizona State before facing last year’s Southern Division champ, Utah.
This game will be still be on a Friday night (Nov. 27), so USC will still have a short week in a game that could determine the division title.
USC closes the season on Dec. 5 against Washington. Should any of these games be canceled, they would be made up during USC’s bye week or in Week 12.
